Security forces vigilant on Muslim extremism.

Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa said that certain domiciled Muslim Extremists tried to build up Muslim extremism in Sri Lanka in the recent past.


He expressed this view at a defence seminar on Post Conflict Sri Lanka, Challenges and Regional Stability began in Colombo this morning.

He also said that certain foreign countries have prejudices over Sri Lanka’s relationship with China but he termed such relationships are only economic and bilateral.


Chief Guest of the first day of the seminar was Secretary to President Lalith Weeratunga.


Delivering his speech, Weeratunga said that the LLRC report is a home grown mechanism to find solutions to the post conflict in the country.




Addressing the seminar, Commander of the Sri Lanka Army Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake said that certain Tamil extremist groups are trying to re-create separatism within the country.
