2 Protests against school problems in the South

A group of parents are staging a protest saying that their children were deprived of admission to year one at the Matara Rahula Vidyalaya and the Sujatha Balika Vidyalaya.

Participating in the protest at Isadin town, some parents said although they are residents close to these schools, their children were denied admission even after 9 months.

When contacted the principals of the 2 schools, they said that students to year one was taken according to the Education Ministry circular.

Meanwhile Seenigama Wimala-buddhi Maha Vidyalaya students and their parents staged a protest against transferring the school principal in front of the Seenigama devalaya.

The protesters later dispersed after Ambalangoda Education Circuit Director S.P. Chandrawathi met the protesters and announced that the transfer was cancelled.
