CMC considers suspension of local BTI bacteria

Tuesday, 17 September 2013 - 8:02

Attention of the Colombo Municipal Council has been drawn towards suspending the use of the local BTI bacteria for dengue eradication activities.

In an inquiry made by our news team a Senior Spokesperson stated that although around 12 million Rupees is spent on the local BTI bacteria, expected results have not been obtained.

Accordingly the attention of the CMC has been drawn towards an alternate method and discussions are to be held on the matter.

Around 2400 dengue patients were reported this year from the CMC limits and 11 have died.
