45,000 state officials and 24,500 police officers deployed for election duty

The police states that a special plan has been put in place to provide security for the provincial council elections that will be held today.


Police media spokesperson SP Buddhika Siriwardena stated that 24,500 police officers will be deployed for election duty.


He also requested the public to help the police to hold the election in a peaceful manner.
