President to New York to address UN General Assembly

President+to+New+York+to+address+UN+General+Assembly+++

 

President Mahinda Rajapaksa left on a five-day visit to New York yesterday during which he will address the 68th session of the United Nations General Assembly at the UN headquarters in New York City.

 

President Rajapaksa will participate in the general debate of the UNGA and is scheduled to speak tomorrow.

 

This is the sixth time the President is attending the UNGA.

 

The President’s first address to the UNGA was in 2006.
