All independent candidates loose surety bonds.

Surety bonds deposited by 1506 Independent candidates in order to contest the 3 Provincial Council elections have been impounded.


Under the normal election regulations, each independent candidate should deposit a surety bond of 2000 rupees before he or she submits the nomination for a PC election.


Not a single independent candidate was able to secure a seat in the PC election concluded on Saturday, and nearly 3 million rupees surety bonds deposited by them were impounded today.
