No councilor position was won by any candidate put forward by the MEP, NFF or JHU for the provincial council election this time under the UPFA list.

Responding to a query MEP leader Dinesh Gunawardhana said that the victory won by the UPFA was not a victory of one party.


JHU national organizer Nishaantha Sri Warnasinghe says that it is difficult for candidates with principles to obtain preferential votes within a political campaign carried out spending much money for obtaining preferential votes.
