Deputy Minister of Fisheries Sarath Kumara Gunarathna said Indian fishing vessels which cross the International Maritime Boundary Lines of Sri Lanka and Indian vessels fishing in Sri Lankan territorial waters illegally will be confiscated.

 

He said that strict measures will be taken against Indian vessels poaching in Sri Lankan seas.

 

The Deputy Minister said that accordingly fishermen who come in these vessels will be released and the vessels which they use to cross the IMBL to Sri Lanka will be confiscated.
