The TNA says that it has decided to assign its second bonus seat of the Northern Provincial Council to different ethnic and community groups on a quota basis.

Former TNA MP M. K. Sivaajilingam told our news team that it was decided at the special discussion held yesterday to limit the tenure of office of the bonus seat per councilor to one year.

Accordingly it was decided at yesterday’s discussion to appoint female contestant from Mullaitiv Kamalaa Gunaseelan for the first year.

Ayub Aamin has been named for the bonus seat that accrues to the TNA from the Mannar District.

Ayub Aamin has been thus appointed according to a TNA’s decision to assign the Mannar bonus seat to a Muslim.

While the TNA provincial council ministerial posts would be decided upon at a discussion due to be held day-after-tomorrow, the day of swearing in by Northern Provincial Council Ministers including the Chief Minister will be decided upon on that day.

The decision as to whether to invite the President for the oath taking ceremony too would be taken on that day.

Meanwhile the Patriotic Movement says that the statement made with regard to the swearing in of the North Chief Minister is the first gunshot of another war.

Patriotic Movement general secretary Wasantha Bandaara points out that the said statement is a protest made against the country’s Constitution as well as the Election Act.
