UN Chief holds talks with India on Sri Lanka

UN Chief Ban Ki-moon held discussions with Indian External Affairs Minister Salman Kurshid on several key issues including the Sri Lankan situation.


The Secretary General noted this following a meeting with Khurshid at the UN headquarters in New York.


Accordingly, the UN Chief welcomed the recent talks held between India and Pakistan.


He also discussed developments in Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Myanmar, stressing the importance of dialogue, inclusiveness and reconciliation, as well as India’s regional role.
