Dabadiwa pilgrims safe; says Asgiriya Chief Prelate.

Asgiri Chapter Chief Incumbent Most Venerable Udugama Sri Buddharakkhita Thero says that Buddhagayaa and other Indian Shrines are safe for Sri Lankan Buddhist devotees.


The Venerable Prelate points out that although after the recent attack on Buddhagayaa, many fear to go on pilgrimage to shrines in India, they should not have such fear.


The prelate said on return to Sri Lanka after engaging in a five-day observation tour for inquiring about the current security status in Buddhist shrines in India.


The Asgiri Chapter Chief Incumbent said that since State protection had been provided to every shrine in India maximum security was given to devotees.
