Decisive UNP WC meeting today; Change in positions expected; UNP Chairman ready to resign.

Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe says that the changing of the UNP leadership is not an activity that belongs to Media institutions.


The Opposition Leader said so while participating at a meeting held at Aehaeliyagoda yesterday.


On this occasion the Opposition Leader also expressed his views about the clash that took place among party-members in Matara.


He said that issues must be solved through discussion and it is futile to quarrel on roads.


Meanwhile, MP Gamini Jayawikrema Perera told our news team that if he could be satisfied with the reorganization proposals put forward at the working committee today, he was even prepared step down from the post of UNP chairman.


Meanwhile the UNP working committee is scheduled to meet this afternoon.


UNP MP attorney-at-law Ajith P. Perera told our news team that several decisions with regard to several decisive matters and party posts were scheduled to be taken at the said meeting.
