46 illegal migrants bound to Australia caught in Beruwala

The Beruwala police was able to arrest 46 Sri Lankans who were illegally heading towards Australia this morning.


The police stated that among these individuals were 29 males, 9 females and 10 children.


The arrest took place near the Beruwala Samanala grounds.


The arrested persons were from Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mannar, Vavuniya, Trincomalee and Negombo areas.


The police were able to take custody of the van that was used for transport and the individuals were handed over to the C.I.D. for further questioning.
