Hajj symbolises spirit of unity and harmony says President

President Mahinda Rajapaksa said in a Hajj message The Hajj festival symbolises the spirit of unity when millions of pilgrims speaking different languages and belonging to different nationalities and cultures proclaim the unique mission of divinity, unity and the greatness of Allah.


Hajj is the most important annual event of the Muslims in the world, when more than four million faithful gather at the Holy City of Mecca, facing which direction all Muslims pray five times every day.


The Muslims of Sri Lanka have been provided all facilities to participate in the annual Hajj pilgrimage, where they renew their commitment to the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Holy Prophet Muhammad, and pray for peace, brotherhood and understanding among all people of the world.
