Elections commissioner questions several parliamentarians.

Election commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya has decided to query several parliamentarians.


That is with regard allowing taking photos of voting at the recent provincial council election, in spite of taking photographs within the polling centre being banned.


In addition, written explanation has been called from relevant polling centre senior officers who had allowed taking of photographs.  


Reports say that the Election Commissioner has also decided to suspend all allowances of the officers concerned as a disciplinary measure with regard to them.


At the recent provincial council election it was banned to take photographs at polling centers in a manner that would cause inconvenience to voters and officers
