3 EPRLF members elected for the Northern Provincial Council under the TNA ticket were sworn-in before an Attorney-at-law at a hotel in Vavuniya today.
They are Shiva Prakashan Shiva Mohan, Mail-vaganam Thyagarajah and Kandiah Sharveswaram.
9 members belonging to all 3 parties, The EPRLF, TELO and PLOT boycotted the previous oath taking ceremony held before Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran on the 11th of October.
PLOT leader Dharmalingam Siddharthan and his party’s Vavuniya Urban Council former member Tamodaran Pillai Linganadan also took oaths alone.
They were sworn-in before their party Secretary Subramaniyam Sadanandan last Monday.
Meanwhile 2 other TELO and EPRLF members have taken oath alone before the Northern Provincial Chief Minister recently.
Accordingly only one more EPRLF member remains to be sworn in.
However the inaugural sessions of the Northern Provincial Council is scheduled to be held in Jaffna on the 25th October.
TNA sources stated that a decision has not yet been taken about the criterion of the allocation of other Council positions.
Meanwhile a rift among TNA coalition parties has emerged on the allocation of Council ministerial positions.
EPRLF, TELO and PLOT members accused the Tamil Arasu Kachchi for its selfish actions that have been launched to win only their party goals.
Meanwhile NFF Media Spokesman Mohammad Musammil told a media conference held in Colombo yesterday that the rift among the TNA coalitions are some clear efforts to reinvigorate separatism.
