Kabeer to be appointed as Chairmen of UNP - Ajith for JSS.

Reports state that the vacant chairmanships of the United National Party and the Jathika Sevaka Sangamaya will be filled next week.


A senior spokesperson of the UNP stated that the leader of the UNP Ranil Wickramasinghe will make the appointments for the two vacant posts.


Party sources state parliamentarian Kabir Hashim will be appointed chairman of the UNP and that parliamentarian Ajith P. Perera will be appointed chairman of the JSS.


Parliamentarian Gamini Jayawickrama Perera and Provincial Councilor Daya Gamage who were the chairman and the national organizer of the UNP respectively stated during the previous working committee meeting that they will be resigning from their posts.


The decision to make the new appointments was taken subsequent to these announcements.


The chairman of the JSS John Amaratunga had also notified the opposition leader that he too will resign from his post.
