The Tamil Nadu Assembly unanimously passed a resolution today requesting its Centre to “completely boycott” the CHOGM to be held in Colombo this November.

Moving the resolution Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha Jeyaram stated in the motion that India should take steps to suspend Sri Lanka from the Commonwealth till it secures rights for the Tamils on par with the Sinhalese.

However our news team contacted former diplomat and political analyst Dr. Dayan Jayatillake to comment on the irksome behavior of India towards the scheduled CHOGM in Sri Lanka.

Dr. Jayatillake said current developments in India with regard to CHOGM would be disadvantageous to both countries in the end.
