Video: 3 including a child killed in Karuwalagas-wewa accident - 42,000 accidents annually

A 10 month old child who was also injured in an accident that took place in the Karuwalagaswewa area in Puttlam  this morning has succumbed to his injuries.


2 others were killed when a van collided against a parked lorry near the 12th post area.


6 others who were injured are receiving treatment at the Puttlam hospital.


The Police Media Spokespersons Office stated that the group who were residents of Madampe had met with the accident while on a pilgrimage to Anuradhapura.


Meanwhile, Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana stated that the law will be strictly enacted regarding vehicles that do not satisfy required standards, considering the increased number of motor accidents.
