Sri Lanka Police says that nowhere in the world is there a policy to establish Police forces based on a race.

Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana speaking at a media briefing that was held yesterday expressed these views in reply to a statement that was made by Northern Province Chief Minister C V Vigneswaran.

The Chief Minister stated that a Police force which is not proficient with the Tamil language is a hindrance to the North.
