Video:Herman Gunarathna who fired shots during Mathara clash remanded again.

Southern Provincial Councilor Maithree Gunarathnes father Herman Gunarathne was produced before the Matara Magistrate today in connection with the shooting incident during the recent clash between 2 UNP groups in Matara.

Later Matara Magistrate Ruwan Sisira Kumara remanded the suspect until the 4th of November when the case is schedule be taken again.

Meanwhile 3 supporters of the Mangala Samaraweera faction wanted in connection with the Matara incident were produced before the Matara Magistrate following they’re surrender yesterday.

They were also produced for an identification parade today and Maithree Gunarathne’s son identified one of them as the National Youth Front Vice Chairman Prasad Hettiarachchi.

Later the Chief Magistrate released the suspects on a personal bail of one hundred thousand rupees.

Meanwhile one person from the Mangala faction and another from the Maithree faction connected to the Matara incident surrendered to the Magistrate Court today and were later released on bail later.

The case will be taken up again on the 25th of November.
