Inquiry into the death of a health worker who died due to the delay of treatment.

Health Minister Maithreepala Sirisena has called an inquiry into a minor health worker’s death which allegedly caused due to the delay of treatment for dengue.


Deepika Priyadharshanee Karaliyadda was attached to the Ward Number 30 of the Colombo National Hospital and she was admitted to Ward Number 56 after she was attacked by dengue on November 28th.


However Trade Unions alleged that Deepika died due to the negligence of the nursing staff of the Ward Number 56.
