North Provincial Council Chief Minister C.V. Vigneswaran says that the TNA has not so far received an invitation to the CHOGM.

Having met U.S. Ambassador Michele J. Sison in Jaffna, Vigneswaran expressed his views to the media at a press briefing held at the Provincial Council building today.

Speaking to the media Ambassador Sison also said all people in this country should be able to live in harmony.

Chief Minister Vigneswaran further said that he would take a decision with regard to the participation in the CHOGM if an invitation is extended to the TNA.

However TNA MP Mawei Senadhirajah told our news team on the 26th of November that his party had decided to boycott CHOGM.

Meanwhile South Korean Ambassador in Sri Lanka Jong Moon Choi also met Chief Minister C.V. Vigneswaran in Jaffna today.

Sources told our news team that the ambassador has announced his assistance to develop the life in the North including providing employment to the youth in South Korea.

However, addressing a media briefing held in Colombo today, National Movements Federation convener Dr. Gunadasa Amarasekera said that the Northern Chief Minister’s action is insincere.

Meanwhile Chief Minster Vigneswaran has been admitted to Jaffna Teaching Hospital today.

The hospital’s Director Dr. Bhawani Pasuupadirajah said that the Chief Minister should receive treatment for at least 24 hours.

She said that several testes are to be conducted on the Chief Minister but assured that he was not at risk.
