Routine functions of Colombo city will not be disrupted due to CHOGM

The Secretary of Mass Media Ministry, Charitha Herath declared that the routine functions of Colombo city will not be disrupted during the CHOGM.


He said this during a workshop to enlighten the media representatives on CHOGM today.


According to the secretary, three main roads in Colombo will be reserved for the event, while the traffic will be restricted only during the arrival of the heads of states.


The police will enlighten the general public regarding safety measures to be taken in Colombo.          


Speaking at a press conference recently, the Director General of the Media Centre for National Security, Lakshman Hulugalla said only a few chosen areas will be under special security.
