Thunder showers today as well - Risk of lightening to continue

The MET Department says that the general public should continue to be vigilant regarding lightening activity.


2 persons died by lightening yesterday bringing the total number of lightening related deaths this year to 18.


Duty Meteorologist Anusha Warnasuriya stated that thunder showers can be expected today as well.


Meanwhile, the Disaster Management Centre requests public to take necessary measures to cut down trees that are prone to collapse considering the windy conditions.
