A clash near the Seegiriya lions paw; 6 hospitalised.

As a result of a clash between a group that visited Seegiriya and security officers of the Cultural Triangle, six persons from both groups were hospitalized with injuries sustained.


The police said that this group that visited Sigiriya last afternoon had taken photographs with postures effected by climbing on to the lion’s paws.


Subsequently a clash had taken place between security officers who went to the location to prevent it and the group.   


The police media spokesman’s office said that while the wounded were receiving treatment at the Sigiriya and Kimbissa hospitals, the group connected with the clash comprised residents of Panadura.
