Sri Lanka Tourist arrivals up 6.6-pct in January 2015

Sri Lanka's tourist arrivals rose 6.6 percent to 156 thousand 246 in January 2015 from a year earlier, driven by China, Russia, India and United Kingdom.

South Asian visitors were up 14.6 percent to 28 thousand 392 compared to the same month last year supported by arrivals from India, Pakistan and Maldives.

Visitors from Maldives were up 35.5 percent to 7,024 and Pakistan was up 37.6 percent to 2,351.
