The rupee edged down on Thursday, after ending flat for 7 straight sessions as the central bank allowed the local currency to depreciate by 10 cents amid downward pressure due to tepid dollar demand from importers.

The spot currency was trading at 132 rupees and 90 cents to 133 rupees and 10 cents per dollar compared with Wednesday's close of 32 rupees and 80 cents to 133 rupees.
