Lanka targets US$ 2.5 b tourism revenue

Sri Lanka will be targeting a record of 2.5 billion US dollars revenue from the tourism sector in 2015.

Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority Chairman, speaking at the 49th edition of the ITB's well attended and professionally handled press conference said that this figure was at 1.7 billion US dollars last year.

He added that they expect the total earnings from the industry to pass the 6 billion US dollars mark next year, and are also hoping to target a record two million tourist arrivals for 2015.
