Coconut products could be $1B export earner- Navin

Total coconut product exports rose 12% to an estimated 84 billion rupees last year compared to 2015.

According to the Ministry of Plantations Industries, there were big increases in poonac, vinegar and virgin coconut oil.

Plantations Industries Minister Navin Dissanayake says that earnings from coconut product exports can go up to 1 billion dollars from around 500 million dollars now, if more nuts can be acquired for processing.
