The new Audi e-tron is being offered in two body styles SUV and Sportback and three variants - e-tron 50, e-tron 55 and e-tron Sportback 55. And all three are being sold as completely built units (CBUs) or imported models.

It's the German brand's first-ever all-electric offering in the Indian market and the electric SUV takes on the likes of the Mercedes-Benz EQC and Jaguar I-Pace in the market. The Audi e-tron was supposed to be the first luxury electric car to go on sale in India but its launch was deferred due to the pandemic.

The Audi e-Tron 55 SUV will draw power from two electric motors that develop 265 kW or 355 bhp and 561 Nm of peak torque. And these figures go up to 300 kW or 402 bhp and 664 Nm in the boost mode. It does the 0-100 kmph sprint in 5.7 seconds, in-turn clocking a top-speed of is 200 kmph. Audi claims a range of up to 484 km on a single charge from the 95 kWh battery pack. It can be fully charged in eight and a half hours using a regular charger.

The Audi e-Tron 50 on the other hand gets a 71 kWh battery pack that puts out 230 kW or 309 bhp and 540 Nm of peak torque. It tips the scales at 3040 kg and clocks triple-digits in 6.8 seconds, in-turn hitting a top-speed of 190 kmph. On a single full charge, Audi India is claiming a drive range of up to 379 km on the e-tron 50. Progressive steering, adaptive air suspension and Quattro all-wheel drive are standard on all three variants.

The Audi e-tron sports strong design elements including the massive single-frame grille, Matrix LED headlamps with LED DRLs, 20-inch five-arm alloy wheels and a conventional roofline as opposed to the coupe-like tapering roofline on the Sportback. The rear profile gets wraparound LED taillights connected end-to-end. The bumper also gets the dual-tone treatment, which extends to the alloy wheel design as well.

Audi India is also offering multiple charging options with the e-Tron beginning with the 11 kW charging box that comes complementary with the EV. Then, 50 kW fast chargers will also be installed at its dealerships that early bird customers can avail as complementary and over 100 of them will be installed across 75 cities in the country. Nearby charger locations and other details will be available on the 'myAudiConnect' smartphone app and customers can also call for roadside assistance in case they run out of charge and the vehicle is stranded.
