Today, the Colombo Commercial High Court addressed two contempt applications.
According to unconfirmed reports summons have been issued against the Managing Director of DSI Samson Group a leading company for contempt of court. This follows a previous ruling favoring the former managing director of the company, who challenged his illegal removal from the company.
1st Contempt Application: The respondents have moved for a ruling on a preliminary objection. Written submissions regarding this preliminary objection are to be submitted by October 21.
2nd Contempt Application: The respondents have been directed to provide proof of any steps taken to register the new Form 20. Additionally, the Registrar of Court will inquire with the Registrar of Companies to determine whether the respondents have filed any relevant documents and the dates of such filings by October 21.
In a related case, the objections from the respondents are also due on October 21.
