Industrial and tourism zones coming in North

 Five new industrial zones and several tourism zones are to be established in the North shortly.


The industrial zones are to be set up in Jaffna, Vavuniya, Kilinochchi, Mannar and Mullaitivu districts.


Mandativu, Karativu and Kayts islands have been earmarked to establish the tourism zones.


Authorities expect the new industries will generate at least 50 thousand direct and 20 thousand indirect employment opportunities.
