Opportunity for potential enhanced trade between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh

High Commissioner for Bangladesh High Commission in Sri Lanka M. Su-fi-ur Rahman says that there is opportunity and potential for enhanced trade and investment between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.


If Sri Lanka was to do trade with Bangladesh, ideal industries for import from Bangladesh would encompass polymer, jute, footwear, rubber based products, spices, coffee, cocoa, pharmaceuticals, hospitality, tourism, nursing, and similar products and services.


Sri Lanka's exports to Bangladesh have risen by around 150 % between 2006 and 2011.
