Tea production up this year

Sri Lanka's tea production this year has increased compared to last year, according to reports.

Plantation company sources said that favourable weather conditions boosted tea production this year.

Tea production in March this year was 32.1 million kilo grams, an increase of 3.2 million kilo gramss over the corresponding month of last year which was 28.9 million kilo grams.

Tea production in all three elevations improved over the corresponding figures of March.
