Fertiliser subsidy increased by 15 percent.

The Government has decided to increase the quantity of fertilizer provided to paddy farmers for the 2013/2014 ‘Maha Season’ by 15 per cent over last year.

The Ministry of Finance and Planning saidFertilizer stocks required for this have currently been stored and are available.

The government expects around 700 thousand hectares of land to be cultivated for the Maha Season, and the decision to increase fertilizer was taken after considering this fact.
