SL top value added tea exporter

The Annual General Meeting of the Tea Exporters Association was held under the patronage of President, Mahinda Rajapaksa, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.


Sri Lanka is one of the top value added tea exporters in the region, which accounts for 46 percent of total tea production.


Minister of Plantation Industries Mahinda Samarasinghe said therefore, the government intends to promote value added tea exports through various marketing strategies to promote value addition to reach the 5 billion dollar export mark in 2020.
