Kenya Bans Fifty Shades Ahead Of Weekend Release

Thursday, 12 February 2015 - 10:51

Kenyan film officials have banned erotic thriller Fifty Shades Of Grey from the nation's cinemas.

No reason has been given for the Kenyan Film and Classification Board's decision, which will inconvenience thousands of movie fans who have already bought tickets to see the film, which opens around the world tomorrow.

Censors frequently refuse to screen sexually explicit content in the socially conservative, largely Christian country, and banned The Wolf of Wall Street and last year's Stories Of Our Lives.
