While the pandemic is wrecking havoc all round and people's lives have been affected, there are some Good Samaritans who have chosen to rise to this occasion and do their bit for the people.

Among those is Kannada actor Arjun Gowda who has turned ambulance driver to help people in need. The actor, who has acted in films like Yuvarathnaa, Odeya, Rustum and Aa Drushya, has used this break time from filming to ensure that he helps those around him.

He's started what he has named Project Smile Trust that aims to reach out those who are stuck without any help during this pandemic.
Arjun says that he's using his ambulance to provide services that include both medical help by taking the patients to the hospital and also assisting those who are helpless with the final rites of those who have succumbed to COVID.

"I've been on the road for a couple of days and I've already helped out around half a dozen people with assitance for final rites. We want to ensure that we help out anyone in need irrespective of where they come from or what religion they practice. I'm also ready to travel across town for help.

I ended up taking someone who lives in Kengeri all the way to Whitefield to get them admitted in the hospital. I plan on continuing with this help for the next couple of months as the current situation is quite back and I want to do my bit to people in whatever little way that I can," says Arjun, who adds that he also is ready to help with the delivering of oxygen for those in need

While a section of movie stars were busy holidaying at exotic locations and bombarding our feeds with the quintessential avocado and toast-eating pictures and fancy photoshoots, Kannada actor Arjun Gowda has done something that put him on the list of trends and for all the right reasons.

During the spike in COVID cases across the country, the actor decided to step out for some humanitarian work and is currently working as an ambulance driver to help the COVID-19 patients in Bengaluru.

Sharing a snippet of a news article featuring him on his unverified social media account, an excerpt from his post read: "I have taken all necessary precautions and also necessary training... Am overwhelmed for your wishes, this means a lot to me. It's my commitment and my honour to serve and work for the people of Karnataka."

Other than Arjun Gowda, stars like Priyanka Chopra, Sonu Sood, John Abraham, SS Rajamouli and Taapsee Pannu have been actively amplifying SOS requests on social media during the COVID-19 pandemic.
