Former cricket captain Kumar Sangakkara accuses that former Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage and the Secretary of Sri Lanka Cricket Nishantha Ranatunga have carried out a scheme to harm his reputation.

He mentioned regarding this matter in an email addressed to the Director Operations of the Sri Lanka Cricket Carlton Bernard.

Sangakkara has quoted several factors which took place during the 2013 Champions League.

Sangakkara represented the Hyderabad team at the IPL tournament, as well as the Kandurata team which became the champions at the T-20 tournament, where both teams became qualified to play in the Champions League tournament.

He further complained that even though Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee has approved him to represent the Hyderabad team, Cricket Secretary and the former Sports Minister prevented him from doing so.

Kumar Sangakkara further explained in the email saying that they attempted to make him an offender by raising a doubt among his fans, whether he prioritizes money or the country.

Due to this reason, Sangakkara reiterated that he was under severe tension during this period.
