Yograj Singh said that Yuvraj’s name was removed from the final list upon the insistence of MS Dhoni who does not share a good rapport with the left-hander.

Yograj Singh, former India bowler and father of swashbuckling cricketer Yuvraj Singh, has said that it was the behest of Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni that his son was not selected in the team for the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup.

Yograj tweeted, ‘What is M S Dhoni’s problem with my son? He played for the nation even while suffering from cancer.’
Reports suggest that before the final selection of the the squad, Yuvraj was a likely candidate to find a place in the team, but despite his superb performance in the Ranji Trophy for Punjab, the selectors ignored him.
Yograj charged that Yuvraj’s name was removed from the list only upon the insistence of skipper Dhoni who does not share a good personal rapport with the left-handed allrounder, said an India Today report.

‘If MS Dhoni is having personal issues with my son, I won't do anything. God will do justice. Pray India wins World Cup under your captaincy (MS Dhoni) but nothing can be more sad that you behaved this way,’ India Today quoted Yograj as saying.
Yuvraj, himself, meanwhile tried to clear the air, tweeting: ‘Like every parent my dad is also passionate and I am sure got carried away. Always enjoyed playing under Mahi and would do so in future.’

There was a lot of debate over whether Yuvraj should have found a place in the team for the tournament that began on February 14 and continue till March 29.

Even as the father raked up the issue just a day after India beat arch rivals Pakistan in their opening World Cup game at Adelaide on Sunday, Yuvraj managed to get the best deal in the IPL 8 auction when the Delhi Daredevils picked him up for an unprecedented Rs 16 crore.
