Ian Botham beamed with pride last afternoon as daughter Sarah married fiancé Darren Shield in the picturesque Scottish Highlands.

In keeping with his surroundings the Somerset and England cricket legend, 62, wore a traditional kilt and sporran during the ceremony at Laudale Estate in Loch Sunart on Scotland’s sweeping west coast.

Posing for pictures alongside her father, restaurantuer and wine bar owner Sarah, 39, looked stunning in a fitted white bridal gown, over which she wore a matching cape.

Sarah exchanged vows with Darren, 35, a year after their engagement, and she previously admitted their wedding would be a raucous affair.

Tweeting on April 14, she wrote: 'Well this time in a week I go from Miss - Mrs, where has that year gone?? Heck it's going to be a party Darren Shield!!'
