England 56 for 4 (Buttler 24*) beat West Indies 55 (Rashid 4-2, Moeen 2-17) by six wickets

England chasing a modest total of 56 lost four wickets before crossing the line to beat West Indies in their first match of the super 12. Earlier in the day Australia beat South Africa in a low scoring thriller in the first match of the super 12 round,

England were batting with the intent of chasing the target down as soon as possible since the Net Run Rate could be a decisive factor in the competition in the race to the semi finals.

Jos Buttler remained unbeaten on 24 from 22 balls.

The fielding standard was of exceptional quality from both sides with some great catches taken. Akeal Hosein troubled the English Batsmen with some good tight bowling and accounted for Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone both caught of his own bowling. Moen Ali was run out.

Akeal Hosein finished with 2 for 24 in his four overs.

England skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss and opted to field against West Indies in the Super 12 game in the T20 World Cup at the Dubai International Stadium. England bowlers showed no mercy as West Indies batters were swept away, losing six wickets for 44 runs in the first 10 overs.

Chris Woakes and Moeen Ali bowled superbly in the powerplay. However, Adil Rashid stole the limelight with four wickets in 14 balls and giving away only 2 runs to help his team dominate the opposition and restrict them to only 55 runs in 14.2 overs.
