England 177 for 9 (Duckett 51, Varun 5-24) beat India 145 for 9 (Hardik 40, Overton 3-24) by 26 runs

England secured a crucial 26-run victory in Rajkot, keeping the T20I series alive and ending India’s ten-match winning streak at home. Jofra Archer, Brydon Carse, and Jamie Overton shared seven wickets, while Adil Rashid delivered a masterful spell to defend a seemingly modest total.

After being put in to bat, England reached 171 for 9, recovering from a middle-order collapse triggered by Varun Chakravarthy’s exceptional 5 for 24. Ben Duckett top-scored with 51, while Liam Livingstone’s explosive 43 off 24 balls helped push the total beyond 170. Rashid and Mark Wood’s last-wicket stand of 24 proved vital.

In response, India struggled against England’s disciplined bowling, managing only 145 for 9. Hardik Pandya’s 40 off 35 briefly raised hopes, but his dismissal to Overton sealed England’s control. Rashid’s four-over spell of 1 for 15 stifled India’s chase, while England’s pacers landed crucial early blows.

Tilak Varma, whose recent form had been outstanding, fell to Rashid for 18, marking his first T20I dismissal in five innings. India managed just two boundaries between the seventh and 15th overs, reflecting their struggle.

Mohammed Shami made his T20I return but couldn't make a significant impact as India faltered in their chase, suffering their first home T20I defeat since November 2023.
