Shane Watson quits as vice-captain to focus on form for Ashes

SHANE Watson has stood down from his role as Australian vice-captain across all formats of the game.


Watson struggled for form in Australia's recent 4-0 Test series loss in India and was disciplined for failing to complete a team assignment.


Watson said he was making the move to concentrate on his own form.


Watson said he felt he still had a lot to contribute to Australian cricket.
