England cricket great's walk across Sri Lanka begins today

Former captain of England and cricket commentator Sir Ian Botham will begin his eight day walk across Sri Lanka today.


The 160 kilometer walk will begin from Mankulam in the Northern Province and it will end on November 08th at Seenigama where he will open a sports center.


Sri Lanka's national cricketers Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardena, and Muttiah Muralitharan will join Sir Botham at different points of the walk.


The walk aims to raise funds to provide facilities and services to meet the needs of rural areas of Sri Lanka.
