Sri Lanka scored a historic win over Poland by 26 points to 25 to emerge runners up of the Serendib Cup 2013 in the second place decider played under floodlights at the Race Course yesterday after trailing 13 - 15 at the breather.


This was the first time that Sri Lanka had beaten a European nation in 15-a-side rugby.


It was a great performance by the rejuvenated Sri Lanka outfit led by Namal Rajapaksa with the team giving of their best to match up to the heavier Polish forwards.
