Residents of Bedigamthota area in Sooriyawewa launched a protest demanding the authorities to control the dust emerging from the construction work at the Southern Expressway.
The stretch from Matara to Mattala is currently under construction.
Residents complained that dust from the work site is coming into their houses due to the high winds.
As the officials concerned have failed to take proper action, residents launched the protest by barricading the roads used to enter the work site.
