Former Chairman of Development Lotteries Board Chandrawansa Pathiraja was released on bail today by the Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya.

Chandrawansa is accused of making a loss of 23 million rupees to the Development Lotteries Board.

Commission to Investigate Bribery or Corruption had filed Action against Chandrawansa for offering propaganda campaigns to several of his favourite advertising companies in the months of November and December of 2010.

Having released the suspect on two surety bails of one million rupees each, the magistrate banned the suspect from leaving the country.

The Case will be taken for hearing again on November 25th.
