GCE-O/L mathematics pass rate increases by 7%

The Department of Examinations noted that looking at the pass rate of the O/L examination results for 2016, an additional 10,780 students have qualified for Advanced Levels, compared to the year prior.

69.33% of students qualified for advance levels in 2015. This has increased to 69.94%.

The pass rate for mathematics increased by 7.63%, a total of 62.81% of students. Specifically this is an increase of 28,877 students.

The number of students that obtained straight A’s in all 9 subjects, also increased by 2122 students, when compared to 2015.

The number of students that obtained 9 A’s in 2015 was 6102 students which increased to 8224 students in 2016.

It is significant that the pass rate for history subject also increased by 6.69%.
